Keith, you have once again published a timely article that I am sharing with some of my clients. Thank you! (And thanks to Membrain for reposting it.)
I also started reading Adam Grant's book Think Again about how our preconceptions and biases prevent us from being creative and open to new ideas, what he calls the "Scientific" method. I encourage your followers to check that out to develop a more open mindset!

Keith, Thanks so much for your words. As I embark on yet another quest to become better (at being an athlete, this time) at areas in life, my coach is working closely on my "self speak" related to past performances, injuries, and the concept of "struggle" along with other topics. I've been successful in my previous races, yet my perceived "struggle" to train and to race is why I sought out some coaching. The physical part of becoming better at running, swimming and biking are all well known. Making the training and the racing a more satisfying experience is what I am setting a goal for. You (and He) are challenging me to "re think" how I talk and think about all areas in my life and I already am experiencing a shift in my circumstance both at work, home and when I am training. Interactions with co workers, customers family and friends have changed noticeably in the past few weeks. In addition, the athletic training is going well without the "negativity I have experienced in the past". Again, thanks for all that you do!
